Faith Formation Beyond the Classroom
At Sugar Hill Christian Academy we assist students in developing a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. This vision goes beyond just Biblical integration in the classroom. In addition to this, we prioritize spiritual development and leverage specific opportunities, both weekly and throughout the year, to aid in that mission. Check out the options below for a view at our holistic approach to spiritual development.
Spiritual Development Opportunities:
Our lower-school students start their day, every day, worshiping the Lord and connecting with Him through the teaching of His Word. Monthly character building is integrated during this time through speakers, videos and live worship.
Every Monday morning finds our upper-school students engaged in student-led worship with guest speakers from our local community. This time of Bible teaching and Worship is followed by small group breakout sessions guided by our SLC (Student Leadership Committee). These SLC students are upper class students that are trained weekly and mentored by our upper-school leadership team.
Our upper-school students attend two retreats each year to reinforce and continue the connections made during their small group time. Our Fall retreat is held for 3 days off-campus at the Woodlands Camp in Cleveland Georgia, and our Spring retreat is an on-campus event that leverages half days and keeps everyone on campus. The theme of these opportunities is “Connection”. Our heart is to leverage these moments to further connect with God and connect with one-another.
